when Bush comes to shove

it's a nice day today, except for the cold and the fact that the royal bank decided to close my account without telling me. i guess my paycheque will have to wait until i have a new account.

our neighbours to the south sent their leader up to visit us. i certainly hope that we won't accept missile defence. really, who would attack canada? what has canada done anywhere in the world that would make someone mad at us? honestly, missile defence is like putting a fence around your garbage can to keep the raccoons out: somehow, if they want to get through, they will find a way.

and these missiles will be used to shoot down what exactly? other missiles? who is going to fire a missile at the united states? nobody, because the response would ensure that their ashes would glow in the dark for a few thousand years. as well, the missiles they're planning to use are the patriot missiles. yes, the ones from the gulf war. the ones which had a great success rate, but only when the television cameras were on. in other words, they weren't the best thing to use to knock a missile out of the air.

like using a .45 to kill mosquitos. it'll work, but you'll have more holes in the walls than dead mosquitos.

smile. nobody's looking.
