power

first, they give you a seat in a powerful position.
then, they give you the key to the city of detroit.

and then, you cut the strings attached to you and gas some of your own citizens.

and at the time, no one cares, except the people choking to death on the gas.

but later...it comes back to haunt you.
you have sanctions placed against your country.
your country is bombed daily.
you are attacked for no other reason than you're who you happen to be.
and you get caught ducking down into a hole beneath a house.
and you end up at the end of a rope.

and a man who lied to get a country into an unjust war goes unpunished.

funny how that works, isn't it?
